Welsh Institute for Minimal Access Therapy
WIMAT is a surgical training centre based on the campus of the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff. It is currently at the forefront of providing a wide range of postgraduate education and training for Foundation Doctors through to SpR's and Consultants, which includes basic, intermediate and advanced courses in a range of medical and surgical specialties, including those approved and regionally run by the RCS, RCOG and BAUS, and welcomes delegates from across Wales, the UK and worldwide.
WIMAT is also the leading centre for the Welsh Endoscopy Training Network (WETN) and the Welsh Laparoscopic Colorectal Training Scheme (WLCTS). In conjunction with WETN, WIMAT offers a full compliment of run- through endoscopic training courses, many of which are JAG (Joint Advisory Group) approved.
